Homework

Blegh, homework. Didja know that there's not actually any scientific proof that homework helps kids comprehend the material their learning in school? Nor is there any proof that standardized testing is an accurate way of judging the retention of a kids mind.

Exams are this week, and I'm writing a fourteen long page disease paper, as well as finishing my portfolio and math packet, which is what provoked this sudden attack on homework, just in case you were wondering.

I am deeply sorry for not posting for all of about six months! But I'll get right back on it!

To start off, I'm not QUITE as fruity as you may think... I just love the band... Thank you Marenface. She & Him is an amazingggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg band with Zooey Deschanel from 500 Days of Summer and Yes Man. I love those movies... Unfortunately she is married to that Ben person from Death Cab For Cutie, must be a depressing marriage. Sorry, Maren, guess ya can't have her quite yet.

(500) Days of Summer

Hello Kittens!

I'm sorry, I know I've been quite lax about posting anything, for a long time. Six months or so? Jeez, I'm so flaky.

Anywho, (500) Days of Summer. Have you seen it? ITS AWESOME. I've had a crush on Zooey D. for so long now...Elf was great, Almost Famous (she rocked that vintage stewardess's uniform), Yes Man, plus, her band, She&Him just released Volume Two and I can't get enough of it--Volume One however, will always be my favorite.

I need to stop. This is about the movie, not the chick. I admit, I've seen it no less than six times (yes, its THAT good). As mentioned before, it stars Zooey Deschanel as Summer Finn, and Joseph Levitt-Gordon as Tom Hanson (who I want for my own). Directed by Marc Webb, it was first for Sundance, and then hit the mainstage.

Summer and Tom are amazing. You love Summer, but at the same time you hate her. And Tom is just adorable. In the beginning, they're the perfect couple: cutesy trips to ikea, I love Us cards, the whole shebang. Then disaster strikes when Summer breaks up with Tom. Its the story about love, but like the big deep narrator voice says: "This is not a love story".

Oh yeah, I've got to mention the clothes. The clothes are lovely, and being the creeper I am, I compulsively researched the clothes and darnit they're all from thrift stores. Yet, that sort of gives this movie credibility--they are cool enough to go look for their own clothes from vintage shops, and second hand stores!

So I pound my gavel and announce to the public: If you like the sound of this movie, GO RENT IT RIGHT NOW! ITS AMAZING! I LIKED IT A LOT!
